The Left parties will meet here on Thursday to decide on resuming their participation in the UPA Coordination Committee meetings. The meeting has been convened in the wake of the government decision to keep the BHEL disinvestment move on hold. The Left had been staying away from the coordination panel since May. The meeting, originally scheduled for Monday, was deferred to October 13, because Forward Bloc leader Debabrata Biswas was in Kolkata.

UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi had written a letter to the Left informing the PM’s decision to keep the BHEL disinvestment plan ‘‘in abeyance’’.
