
CHANDIGARH, January 28: Displaying better pitching and putting Sandy Lehal pipped strong favourite Parnita Garewal in sudden death playoff to win the junior gross title in the second Aman Nat Memorial golf tournament at the Chandigarh golf Course here. Parnita Garewal and Sandy Lehal were tied on 17th hole with a score of four over in the two-day competition and having the 18th hole on one over.
In the junior nett category Jasanjit Singh Dullat of Black Elephant Golf Club, Patiala prevail over Gurbaaz Mann, with a nett score of 135. Mann finished two strokes behind the winner.
Irina Brar emerged victorious in the sub-junior gross category with a card of 118 while Jaskeerat Singh Dullat finished runner-up. Prince Dhillon claimed the title in the nett score section while Richard Stevan Hilton finished runner-up. The tournament was part of the annual golf calender of Chandigarh Golf Club. Rupinder Nat distributed the prizes.
Death condoled
The Punjab Olympic Association condoled the death ofsports administrator Sunil Mehra. In a condolence message to the bereaved family POA secretary general Arvind Khanna said here today “the sports fraternity has lost an able sports administrator.” Sunil was the former secretary of the Punjab Badminton Association.
