Mumbai, Nov 15: Sadiq Madraswala of CCI upset Nikhil Seth of Bombay Gymkhana, seeded fourth in the Under-13 pre-quarter-finals of the 56th Indian Express CCI Western India open squash tournament 1999 at CCI Courts today. Though Sadiq was playing on familiar terrain, with a loyal home crowd rooting for him, it was Nikhil who took the initiative, bagging the first game 9-2.

Sadiq was undone by his attempt at using hard muscle power to demolish Nikhil. He switched strategies in the second game, using soft hands and smash hits to surge ahead. Nikhil’s sibling Vir, seeded fourth in the boys under-11 section, lost to Harshjit Sethi of Khar Gym 2-9 10-8 2-9 1-9.
