NEW DELHI, SEPT 27: Even as Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pramod Mahajan campaigns intensively for his party, his son, Rahul Mahajan, having made his debut with much fanfare on the National Network on Independence Day with a live telecast, is now getting ready to quietly flag off his company's first programme for the National Network.Starting on Wednesday, the hour-long prime time sponsored show, Truck Dhina Dhin, has been produced by Integral Productions Private Ltd, in which Rahul Mahajan is a partner, along with the show's director, Irfan Khan. Mahajan Jr's company already has a show on Star Plus, A Taste of India, a travelling cookery show.Truck Dhina Dhin, a countdown show, features comedian Jagdeep and his son, dancer-turned-veejay Jaaved Jafferi, who had compered the ill-fated Satyameva Jayate show on the BJP Government's first anniversary in New Delhi. Both play truck drivers and the hitlist is woven into the storyline.Airing the 26-episode show onWednesday entailed a lot of juggling for DD. The show, for which the producer is paying a minimum guarantee, was first slotted on Thursday at 9.30 pm, causing another countdown show, Nehle Pe Dehla to be moved to Sunday, first at 7.30 pm and then 9.30 pm. But when Integral found Truck Dhina Dhin was pitted against DD Metro's very strong commercial performer, Hindustani, they went right back to the drawing board. So the show was finally inked in for Wednesday, to be aired immediately after Param Vir Chakra's 12-episode re-run was completed. Thursdays 9.30 pm were left open to the 104-episode mega serial Noorjehan, the same production house's Hindustani was moved to Mondays 8.30 pm and Integral's programme, after some changes, begins its run on Wednesday.
