The Maharashtra government today sanctioned prosecuting six alleged Lashkar-e-Toiba operatives under POTA, clearing the decks for the filing of chargesheet in a special court tomorrow in cases pertaining to the twin blasts of August 25, Ghatkopar blast of July 28 and explosives seizure of December 6, 2002.
A common chargesheet would be filed in the POTA court of designated judge A.P. Bhangale, sources said. The accused are Sayed Mohammed Hanif, his wife Fahimida and their associates, Arshat Ansari, Zahid Patni, Mohammed Hussain alias Batterywala and Mohammed Rizwan.
Police claim to have gathered voluminous evidence which discloses the role of LET operatives in the bomb blasts.
