MUMBAI, DECEMBER 15: Gujarat, replying to Maharashtra’s first innings’ 332, were totering at 174 for six at close of play on the second day of the three-day West Zone under-22 match for the Hindustan Inks Trophy being played at Parsee Gymkhana ground today. Gujarat still need 159 runs with four wickets standing to get the lead.
Gujarat were put on the back foot immediately, losing two quick wickets with the score on 19. They were also not helped by some poor running between wickets which accounted for two run outs. A 90-run partnership for the fourth-wicket between H Joshipura (47) and K Damani (62) helped bring some respectibility to the Gujarat total.
Maharashtra, resuming at 255 for six, reached 332 with S Aradhye and S Satbhai contributing 32 and 30 runs respectively.
Brief scores: Maharashtra 332 (D Jadhav 106, K Aphale 63, S Aradhye 32, S Satbhai 30; V Gandhi 5-48) vs Gujarat 174-6 (K Damani 62, H Joshipura 47, S Nair 2-54).
