UT Advisor Pardip Mehra inaugurated a computer training centre, an initiative of the Madrasa Islamiah Faiz-ul-uloom in Maloya, on Tuesday.

Imparting technical education, the centre will cater to the underprivileged especially those from the Muslim community.

This is the second centre established by the United Progressive Muslim Front after the one in Manimajra.

The Advisor said that such programmes must be pursued with diligence and sincerity.

“In order to sustain our economic growth, the country will need to draw from all possible human resources,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Pardeep Chhabra said that the madrasa in Maloya is the second after the one in Manimajra in the city where Deeni Taleem (religious education) has been perfectly blended with the modern and technically advanced system of education in such a way that students passing out from there can join mainstream schools and colleges to pursue higher education.

Spokesperson of United Progressive Muslim Front, Arshad Khan, said the aim is to have a computer centre in every madrasa of the city and region.
