Bangalore, July 15: People for Animals (PFA) Chief and former MP, Maneka Gandhi, has urged Bangloreans to act to put an end to the slaughter and sale of birds in the city's Russel Market. Addressing a PFA meeting here, she said "I want Russel Market closed and bird slaughtering stopped". Maneka Gandhi said her organisation would soon open "Life", a ration shop selling pesticide-free foodgrains, in the city. Depending on the success of the venture in Bangalore, such shops would be opened all over the country, she said.
