NEW DELHI, Oct 14: Marathoner Rigzen Angmo of the Central Reserve Police Force has been awarded DG's commendaton disc for winning gold in the National marathon competition at Baroda last week.In a felicitation ceremony at the CRPF headquarters here yesterday, Director General M.N. Sabharwal announced this awarfd for the athlete in appreciation of her performance. The athlete had won the gold along with a prizemoney of Rs. 50,000. Rigzen Angmo has many medals to her credit in various international and national marathon competitions. She won a gold each in 1994 and 1995 in a competition at Kuala Lumpur, Kathmandu and Bangkok. She also annexed two silver in 1995 in a marathon event at Indonesia and at Chennai in the SAF marathon competition.She is also the gold winner during 1995 in the Indian Open Rath marathon in Delhi besides her silver winning performance in the prestigeous event in 1977 and 1998.
