PATNA, May 11: Supporters of the 16-party Left and Democratic combine, today took to the streets for the first time demanding the dismissal of the Bihar Chief Minister, Laloo Prasad Yadav, following the CBI seeking the Governor’s sanction to prosecute him in the Rs 950 crore fodder scam.

Supporters of the combine which included among others, the CPI, CPM, CPI-ML (Liberation) and the Samajwadi Party marched to the Raj Bhavan in a procession from the statue of Jayprakash Narayan at Gandhi Maidan to apprise the resentment prevailing among the people of the state at “the Chief Minister’s refusal to step down”.

Later, a 15-member delegation led by the Bihar Samajwadi Party president, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, and leaders of the Left parties including, Subodh Rai (MLC), and Ramjatan Sharma, submitted a memorandum to the Governor, Dr A R Kidwai, in support of their demand.

The delegation also urged the Governor for early sanction to the CBI’s request to prosecute the Chief Minister, Union Minister, C P Verma, two Bihar ministers, Bholaram Toofani and Vidyasagar Nishad, and the former chief minister, Dr Jagannath Mishra, in the scam.Other parties and organisations which participated included the MCPI, MCC, RSP, the Forward Bloc, CPI-ML, Lohia-Karpoori Samajwadi Party, Sampoorna Kranti Muhim, Lok Shakti, and the Soshit Samaj Dal.
