Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has planned a 45 per cent increase in its service network. The expansion planned over the next three years, received the green signal from the management of the company recently and will enhance its network from the existing 1215 cities and towns to over 1700. During the process the total number of service stations and workshops will be almost doubled by 2011. “Given that, the top brass wanted to know what would be required in terms of network expansion and infrastructure in the next three years. That was the starting point of the plan” a company spokesperson said. Maruti does not invest directly in workshops and service stations but identifies entrepreneurs and initiates them into setting it up.
