MYSORE, May 11: In a truly egalitarian atmosphere, 114 couples, including the daughter of a former Karnataka minister, entered into wedlock, cutting across caste, class and political barriers, amidst a chorus of blessings from pontiffs of various religious mutts in Krishnarajanagar, 42 kms from here, on Sunday.

The 114 couples seated in two rows separated by a distance of ten feet, could hardly be distinguished as belonging to any class or caste, for all of them were dressed uniformly in sarees or panches of the same colour. The brides were wearing a green saree with matching blouses.
