A roadside feast
Here’s another feinschmecker’ joint for you. Brothers Shaikh Mehboob and Shaikh Rashid run a food stall near the Jamai Tul Khuresh mosque, parallel to M G Road. Come Ramzan time and their food stall is flooded with customers who crowd to eat their sumptuous spring rolls and tandoori chicken.

Started about 10 years back, the two brothers initially sold only biryani. But now, they offer an array of delicacies for everybody. Cutlets, patties, samosas, chana batata, nargis kabab are their other items which their customers really dig.

Mehboob and Rashid learnt all these dishes from their mother who inspired them to make a living by starting a food stall. Considering that they come from a humble background, this seemeds a daunting task.

Luck favoured them and their delicacies were well-accepted by food lovers. Mehboob says that now they have some loyal customers who have been regularly visiting their stall for many years. When asked, some of their customers at the stall said that they love the mouth-watering spring rolls here and make a point to eat here at least twice a week.

The brothers get all their ingredients ready by about 3.00 pm. And at 4.30 pm they are at their food stall with their paraphernalia, all set to treat the taste buds of their customers.

With all their items falling in the reasonable price range of Rs 5 to Rs 10, they always have a beeline of customers ready to have a bite of the sumptuous spread.
