BANGALORE, July 22: Air quality monitoring stations to measure and display the level of air pollution on electronic boards will be set up in six select locations, in the City, according to Shivannanavar Basavaraja Neelapa, minister for State for environment and ecology. To be set up at a cost of Rs 30 lakhs, these stations, the first of their kind in India, would display data on the levels of suspended particulate matter, carbon monoxide, sulphor dioxide and nitrogen oxide. The data thus collected would enable the government take steps to check increasing pollution in the City.
