The BJP national council meeting this past week was reasonably well organised, the scheduling being particularly commendable with all speeches starting and ending on time. But amid all this, there were some glitches. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje arriving late on the first day was one of the minor blots. The most embarrassing moment came when BJP president Rajanath Singh began his inaugural speech. The microphone, which was working perfectly till that moment, went silent when Singh opened his mouth. It took a good five minutes—and a lot of experimentation—before Singh’s voice rang out again.
