BHOPAL, JAN 28: The three-day Samajwadi Party national convention starting here tomorrow would deliberate on the strategy to strengthen the third force and decide on steps needed to be taken for dislodging the BJP-led coalition government at the centre.

Addressing a press conference here soon after his ar Samajwadi Party president and former defence minister, Mulayam Singh Yadav said Congress had made it clear that it would not topple the Vajpayee government merely because certain political parties and its leaders, including himself, wanted it to go.

“It is because of this stand Samajwadi Party had decided not to appeal to Congress to take initiative in bringing about the downfall of the Vajpayee government,” he said adding that his party had decided to strengthen the third force and launch a movement against the communal forces.

In their effort to strengthen the third force, SP, RJD and RJP had already formed the Rashtriya Loktantrik Morcha, he said.
