Bloomfield Hills: Phil Mickelson was back in the line-up for the afternoon foursomes on Saturday after captain Hal Sutton had relegated the Masters champion to the bench for the morning fourballs. David Toms will be partnered with Mickelson, who spent the morning cheering on his team mates from the sidelines as they staged a spirited fightback after starting the day trailing the Europeans by five points. European captain Bernhard Langer also juggled his line-up, breaking up Colin Montgomerie and Padraig Harrington who scored a pair of important wins on Friday to set Europe on the way to their best ever Ryder Cup start. Montgomerie asked for a well-deserved rest while Harrington will return to the fray partnered by Paul McGinley. The other European pairings have Darren Clarke with Lee Westwood, Miguel Angel Jimenez with Thomas Levet and Sergio Garcia joining Luke Donald. American pairings will have Tiger Woods teeing off with Davis Love III.
