MUMBAI, July 31: In a case of a minor reshuffle of senior government officials, Higher and Technical education secretary N Lakhanpal has been appointed the new Principal Secretary in the Finance Dept, while Additional Chief Secretary (Fin) C Venkatchary, has been shifted to the planning dept to replace P P Mahana, who will be the Technical& Higher Education Secretary.
A P Sinha, who was on deputation to the Centre, has been appointed the Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Tourism Development Corporation, in place of A Bagachee, who has been shifted to the Maharashtra Agro Industries Development Corp to replace J S Sahani. Sahani, Managing Director, MAIDC, has been appointed Member Secretary of the newly created Jeevan Pradhikaran, while T C Benjamin has been appointed as the Secretary of the Medical Education and Drugs department, in place of B P Pande, who is shifted to the State Cooperative Marketing Corp. The General Administration Dept Secretary R Ubale has been appointed as Managing Director, Haffkine Corp, while S S Lala will be Cooperation Commissioner. Tourism Secretary J Shankaran will be Secretary in the Water Conservation and Employment Guarantee Scheme Dept, in place of M Singh, who will be the new Tourism Secretary.
