He said that they had also pleaded with the police not to act on the previous complaint lodged with the police about the disappearance of the doctor.
When asked about the religious place from where Dr Cheema has been traced, the SSP said that this was not in his knowledge. He said that the police would record the statement of Dr Cheema after his return home.
On the other hand, Dr J.S. Cheema, brother of the missing doctor, when contacted this evening, said that the SAS Nagar SP Bachan Singh Randhawa had informed him that the police had got a vital clue on the whereabouts of Dr Ayaywant Singh Cheema and it was expected that he will return within the next two to four days.
He said that the SP had disclosed him that the missing doctor had gone on a pilgrimage. Dr Cheema added that the SP had not disclosed the place where the doctor was staying put at present, but had given hinted that he could be at somewhere in Ambala, Dehradun or Poanta Sahib. The brother of the missing doctor did not react when told about the version of the Roopnagar SSP in this matter.
