It almost seemed like Manipur had ceased to exist as an Indian state. The AICC announced its new team this week after months of delay, leaving everyone to believe that it took a lot of consultations. The first thing a Congressman does after the announcement of new office-bearers is to find out which general secretary is in charge of his state. Congress leaders from Manipur were frantically searching for their GS in-charge only to realise that the state was not in the list at all. They frantically called up managers of 10 Janpath and after two full days of further consultations, it was decided that Prithviraj Chavan would look after the state.
