In Bihar, the bandh was peaceful, with the state administration making tight security arrangements, official sources said. In Bhagalpur, most businesses remained closed and vehicular traffic was thin. In Vadodara, activists tried to set two buses on fire, police said, adding that no one was injured. A communal clash was averted in Raipur, when VHP and Bajrang Dal activists stormed the Muslim-dominated locality of Maodhapara.
