MNS has warned colleges run by the minority communities in Mumbai to give preferences to the local Marathis.

.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Tuesday warned colleges run by the minority communities in Mumbai to give preferences to the local Marathi students for admissions failing which they would launch agitation against them.

“We have asked the minority-status colleges in Mumbai to give preference to local Marathi students in the admission process or else face our ire,” Shirish Parkar spokesman of the MNS said.

The Raj Thackeray-led party had launched campaign against the north Indian migrants in the city accusing them of polluting the Marathi culture.

MNS had also demanded the industries in Maharashtra to reserve 80 per cent of the jobs for the locals evoking strong protest from industry chambers.
