The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is getting a new Secretary, Ajay Prasad, starting next Monday. South Block sources say it will take a week as Prasad is reported to be waiting for Defence Minister George Fernandes’s return from his Brazil trip on July 12. Secretary for Defence Production and Supplies N.S. Sisodia was transferred today as Secretary, Banking.
Since Prasad’s appointment was made official, officers who are senior to him have been transferred to other ministries. Apart from Sisodia, these include Special Secretary (Acquisition) Dhirendra Singh and Additional Secretary Pratyush Sinha.
