PATNA, October 23: The Opposition leader in the Bihar Assembly, Sushil Kumar Modi, today sat on a day-long fast in protest against the delay being made by the Governor, Dr A R Kidwai, in according sanction to the Central Bureau of Investigation for prosecution of former Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav in another fodder scam case. Modi began his fast in front of the J P Statue at Gandhi Maidan this morning.

Modi expressed serious concern over the delay in sanctioning Yadav’s prosecution and said his party would launch a state-wide struggle if the Governor failed to approve the CBI’s request “immediately”.

He said his party would also not hesitate in demanding recall of Dr Kidwai in this connection. He said “a high level conspiracy has been hatched to hush up the scam cases”, but warned, “we won’t be a mute spectator to it.”
