A Petition filed by Orissa DGP (Home Guard) B B Mohanty seeking the cancellation of an FIR filed by the Rajasthan Police against him for allegedly helping his son to jump parole came up for hearing in the Orissa High Court today.Justice A S Nayudu directed a copy of the petition be served on the Rajasthan government counsel dealing with the case relating to Bittihotra Mohanty, convicted of raping a German research scholar in Alwar and jumping parole since December.The petition, in which Mohanty has pleaded that the proceedings arising out of the FIR be quashed, would come up for further hearing next week.The Rajasthan Police had filed an FIR against the senior Orissa police offier and issued notice to him twice to appear before the Lalkothi police station in Jaipur. Mohanty had earlier moved an anticipatory bail application before the High Court saying he apprehended arrest by the Rajasthan Police.Teams of the Rajasthan Police visited Orissa twice in recent weeks following Biti's disappearance. The bail application had come up in the court of Justice Laxmikanta Mohapatra on January 16. The court had granted interim protection to the DGP and later extended it till February 15.Biti was granted parole on November 20 last year and was to report back to Jaipur jail by December 4, but has since gone missing.
