MUMBAI, July 28: The trade unions of office and factory workers in the city will take out a huge morcha to Vidhan Sabha against privatisation, liberalisation and contractualisation of labour tomorrow.

Lakhs of workers from textiles, engineering docks, municipal corporation, BEST, ST, state government establishments, railways, banks, LIC, GIC, the state electricity board will participate in this morcha.

The morcha will start from Azad Maidan at 4 pm. One lakh hawkers will close down their stalls at 12 am to participate in the morcha, said Kamgar Sanghatana Samyukta Kriti Samiti convenor R G Karnik. The morcha is taking place in the immediate background of the report of Fifth Central Pay commission which has recommended privatisation of various government undertakings and abolition of 3.5 lakh vacant posts and 30 per cent reduction in the remaining staff.
