Former World No 1 and two-time champion Carlos Moya of Spain has confirmed participation for the USD 400,000 Chennai Open 2007. Moya, a crowd favourite in Chennai and the winner of 2004 and 2005 editions of the tournament, will make his 5th appearance in six years in the event to be held at the SDAT Stadium in Nungambakkam, Chennai, from January 1-7.

This year Moya, winner of 19 ATP titles, was deprived of a hat-trick of Chennai Open titles by eventual winner Ivan Ljubucic of Croatia.

Confirming his participation, Moya said, “The tournament is great and the enthusiasm of the crowds is very encouraging. I love India and it is always a pleasure to come back here. It is just fantastic here. I have had some memorable performances at Chennai and I hope to continue the same and hopefully win my third title,” he said.
