NAGPUR, Dec 14: The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee today took an early lead towards planning for the Lok Sabha elections by seeking to convert the gathering of top leaders of the party in the city for its morcha into a working committee meeting. The MPCC executive will lock itself into a brainstorming session with two Congress Working Committee members Sharad Pawar and Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday and Tuesday soon after it has accomplished its show of strength through a farmers’ and weaker sections rally in the afternoon.

MPCC president Ranjit Deshmukh today served notice on all members of the State executive to be present at the meeting which will begin after six in the evening tomorrow and continue on Tuesday. A detailed agenda has been drawn up to discuss the party situation, likely poll alliances and strategies for the LS polls.

The MPCC will deliberate the situation in Konkan and western Maharashtra on December 15 and will take up Nashik, Marathwada, Amravati and Nagpur divisions on December 16.
