MSIL to set up terminal at Mundra Port

Country’s leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) today struck a deal with Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Limited (MPSEZL) today to set up a mega car terminal at Mundra in Gujarat. The terminal is expected to be operational by the end of this year. The agreement was signed by Maruti MD and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi, and Gautam S Adani, chairman and MD, MPSEZL, at Mundra port in the presence of senior officials from MSIL & MPSEZL.

The initial investment in the project is expected to be Rs 100 crore out of which MPSEZL will invest Rs 60 crore in setting up infrastructure at the port and MSIL will invest Rs 40 crore to set up a ‘Pre-Delivery Inspection’ centre at the port premises. MPSEZL is planning to augment the port infrastructure in due course of time. “We are delighted to partner Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Limited for this critical initiative,” Nakanishi said.
