MUMBAI, November 30: The Sena-BJP government today exceptionally granted further two-year extension to Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) Managing Director R C Sinha.``I know his one-year term is ending, but impressed by his work, we are granting him extension hoping that he would secure early clearance for the Sewree-Nhava Sheva trans-harbour link,'' Chief Minister Manohar Joshi said today at a foundation stone laying function for the Mumbai-Pune expressway at Kon in Raigad district.Sinha retired as additional chief secretary from the Urban Development Department last year. Subsequently, he was appointed MD of the MSRDC, which functions directly under the Public Works Department.Incidentally, the PWD has re-employed the largest number of retired employees in violation of the guidelines of State cabinet.After he retired as PWD secretary, G K Deshpande has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty, while another retired secretary, S R Tambe is the head of committee set up to probe the causes of accidents. Former Housing Secretary Jayant Deshpande has been appointed Executive Director, State Road Development Corporation, while Prabhakar Shandilya, after his retirement has now been appointed PRO to Nitin Gadkari.
