LUCKNOW, Oct 24: Defence Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, today said the Samajwadi Party was willing to join hands with any party, including Bahujan Samaj Party, under a new alignment to pull down the BJP Government in Uttar Pradesh. “We have an open mind for anyone who will be with us in the fight against the communal forces,” he told reporters here.

Recalling that SP and BSP had joined hands in 1993-94, Yadav said, “Our party would not mind the same if BSP so desired.” Yadav opposed BJP’s demand for immediate recall of Uttar Pradesh Governor Romesh Bhandari and asserted, “the Governor has simply performed his constitutional obligations and I am not in favour of his recall.”

the BJP has alleged that Bhandari, in conspiracy with Opposition parties, had in his report to the Centre recommended imposition of President’s rule in the State .
