Multi-pronged strategy in place to fight terrorism: Govt

A multi-pronged strategy is being pursued in collaboration with the state governments to counter the challenge posed by the terrorists in the country, Lok Sabha was informed.

A multi-pronged strategy is being pursued in collaboration with the state governments to counter the challenge posed by the terrorists in the country, Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday.

The strategy involves tackling infiltration from across the border, deployment of security forces in areas prone to violence by terrorists, continuous vigilance and sharing of intelligence, Minister of State for Home Affairs V Radhika Selvi informed the House in a written reply.

She said the security arrangements around vital installations would be strengthened.

“Efforts are also being made to strengthen bi-lateral and multi-lateral cooperation at the international level through legal assistance, extradition treaties, exchange of information and intelligence,” she said.

Selvi said police have taken various steps to contain the terrorist activities and to defuse their evil designs.
