Arun Gawli aide shot at
In yet another fallout of the on-going rivalry between Arun Gawli and Chhota Shakeel, a senior Gawli aide, 30-year-old Ranjan Parulekar was shot at in front of his residence at Agripada in Central Mumbai on Monday evening.
Parulekar was attacked by two unidentified persons who opened fire at him as he was sitting opposite his house near Milind nagar at about 7 pm. According to the police, the duo pumped in around six to seven bullets in his belly from their Star .9 mm pistol before escaping on foot.
Parulekar was rushed to the BYL Nair hospital where he is undergoing treatment. Parulekar was instrumental in the killing of Dawood Ibrahim’s brother-in-law Ibrahim Parkar in 1992 which led to the JJ shoot out as a revenge. He was also involved in the killing of Babubhai Shah, owner of Sheetal readymade stores in November 1994.
According to Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime),“Parulekar, in a statement to the police has said that Sadiq, a Chhota Shakeel lieutenant could have been involved in the firing”.
This gives credence to the fact that Chhota Shakeel must have masterminded the firing.
