MUMBAI, July 20: An unidentified gunman tried to shoot a Shiv Sainik in the party’s shakha at Andheri in north-west Mumbai on Sunday. According to the police sources, Vikas Naik, a cleaner of the Sena ambulance, driver Londhe and two others were watching television when the man entered the office and fired at Vikas. In an attempt to save himself, Vikas hurled a chair in his direction but the shooter managed to escape. Police have registered a case of attempt to murder. Further investigations are on.

Train to link city with Ajmer

The railways will introduce a new train between Ajmer and Mumbai from November one this year, Railway Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said on Sunday.He said the train, which would be named `Gareeb Nawaz Express’, will provide one more link for pilgrims to visit the famous dargha of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti.

Cartoon column on the Internet

Internet surfers worldwide can now access `Under the pyramid,’ a management cartoon column introduced on the computer web by a Mumbai-based hobby cartoonist, Priya Raj, residing in Mumbai. Priya Raj, who launched his column on the Net on July 18, said, “Internet is one of the most exciting media for the future and I plan to use it innovatively to extend the reach of my cartoons to the international audience.”

International cartoonists like Scott Adams of `Dilbert’ fame were already on the net, Raj said and hoped he would now be able to reach the same audience through his column.

This column could now be accessed on http: // Dhan. Com, a management site launched by `Indiaworld.’
