Mill workers call off hunger strike

Textile mill workers who were on an indefinite hunger strike in front of Mafatlal Mill No 3 since March 22 ended their stir today after an assurance from the Chief Minister to look into their demands. The workers will hold a meeting on April 2 in front of the mill to follow up on the action taken up by the state government.

Treatment camp for asthma

Meet on tiger conservation

The British Council and Cub Magazine will hold a tiger conservation awareness programme featuring Fateh SinghRathore, Valmik Thapar and Bittu Singh on March 29. Three-session course in Reiki

The Indo-Japanese Association, Mumbai, is conducting a three-day course in Reiki in the first week of April. Burglary attempt foiled, 4 nabbed

Four men were nabbed as they were about to break in into a flat at Chira Bazar in south Mumbai on Friday. A squad from L T Marg police station laid a trap after receiving tip-off about a gang’s plans to loot a flat at B Velkar Street. Around 6.20 pm the police spotted four men moving suspiciously near the flat under observation. The policemen in mufti closed in as they were about to break in. The detained include Mahendra Jadhav (25), Chandan alias Shyamal (22), Chandulal Soni (22) Kisan Shedge (23). The robbershave been remanded to police custody till April 4.

Mahavir Jayanti procession

The Shri Siddhachakra Jain Social Group has organised a religious procession to celebrate Mahavir Jayanti on Monday. The procession will start at the Shri Shantinath Jain Deraser and will end at Brahman Seva Mandal, Dadar.
