Tourism fair from Feb 19

The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation will be co-sponsoring Mumbai’s first travel and tourism fair from February 19 to 22. The fair, which will be held at the World Trade Centre, will have participants from China, Nepal, Maldives, Singapore and Sri Lanka.

Doctors to be honoured

The Society for Cancer Research and Communication will felicitate Dr D V Gopinath, IIT Powai and Dr Hosur of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai for contributing to the cause of multidisciplinary research. The ceremony will be held on February 21at the restaurant Venue, Vikas Centre, 106, S V Road, Santacruz (West).

Record 425 blood bottles collected

A blood donation drive was organised on Friday by the Petroleum Employees’ Union in Uran. The drive notched 425 bottles of blood, breaking the earlier record of 416 bottles collected by St George’s blood bank.

Lecture at the MCCI Hall today

The Maharashtra State Council of FICCI along with theMaharashtra Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organise a meeting with Rajiv Dixit, the man who aided the Bhopal gas tragedy victims, on Monday at the MCCI Hall. Dixit will lecture on problems arising due to liberalisation and globalisation.
