
MSE results declared
* The results of the combined Medical Services Examination 1997, held by the Union Public Service Commission on February 23, has been announced. Summer camp
* A six-week summer hobby camp has been organised by Jawahar Bal Bhavan to enhance schoolkids’ creative skills. The concluding function to be held on June 1, will be attended by Mayor Vishakha Raut. Around 2000-2500 children have benefited from the six-week-long summer camp. The programme included drawing, painting, music, drama, story-telling, dance, yoga, photography and computer classes.
Protest march
* Members of the state Janata Dal unit on Monday staged a protest morcha against the hike in milk and water prices at Hutatma Chowk. Those who participated in the protest march include Vivek Khadeye, Kamal Desai, Prakash Reddy and Vasant Shirali.
Memorandum
* The leaders of Sangam Chetra Seva Samiti (SCSS) submitted a memorandum to the railway ministry demanding a new superfast train `Sagar Sangam Express’ between Mumbai Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and Varanashi. They also demanded the renaming of Dadar station after Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and the Mumbai Central station to Morarji Desai Terminus.
Training camp
* A month-long intensive training camp is being organised at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, Mumbai, to prepare students to participate in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 1997. Out of the 50 students selected from the training camp by the examination held at various centre in the country, six will be selected to represent the country at international events.
Coin stocks
* The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on receiving complaints from the public has made special arrangements to maintain coin stocks with the following branches of public sector banks in Mumbai: Branches of State Bank of India Ghatkopar (West), Malad (West), Matunga main and Dadar (Shivaji park),branches of Central Bank of India at Bandra (Khernagar) and Borivli (West).
Dena Bank’s branches at Horniman Circle and JVPD. Punjab National Bank’s branches at Dadar (NC Kelekar road) and Worli sea face. And Bank of Baroda’s branch at Goregaon (West). Public are advised to approach these branches for their genuine needs for coins.
Best student
* Rangam Bir a student of SIES College of Management Studies, Nerul (Navi Mumbai) has been selected as the best student of management for the year 1996 by the Bombay Management Association. All the 15 Management colleges in Mumbai nominates students for the award on the basis of overall performance.

* A 3-year-old girl Vishakha Rasam (3) is suffering from cancer and is undergoing treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital. Rasam her blind father has appealed to the public to assist him by contributing towards her medical expenses amounting to Rs 40,000, on the following address.
