Pramod Navalkar, Minister of Transport and Cultural Affairs along with senior officer of Central Railway, State Government, BEST and RTO inspected the entire transport arrangement for the railway passengers at Kurla Terminus on Thursday.

It has been decided by the authorities to form a joint action group for the implementation of queuing facilities for autorickshaws, taxis and proper arrangement for bus passengers at the terminus.Free text books

Computer centre

TULEC, a division of Tata Infotech Limited launched its computer eduction centre at Dattani Tower, at Borivli (West) recently. This centre spread over 3500 sq. ft., will be one of the biggest centre in Mumbai. It will be inaugurated by the state home minister Gajanan Kirtikar on June 14.

Conference

The all India Institute of Local Self Government on completion of 70 years of its service in the field of research and training is organising a state level conference of Presidents of Municipal Councils in Maharashtra on June 15. Chief Minister Manohar Joshi will inaugurate the conference at 10 a.m. The conference will discuss privatisation of Municipal Service, state Municipal Relations and responsibilities of Municipal Councils.

Taximen’s union

The Mumbai Taximen’s Union has asked the regional transport authority of Mumbai to extend the area of operation of Mumbai taxis up to Virar.
