Lottery sellers will be meeting the State Lottery Commissioner Suresh Salvi next week to discuss their demands.

The lottery sellers, under the Akhil Hindustan Lottery Sellers’ Sena, today took out a huge morcha at Azad maidan to protest against the State Government’s decision to abolish all lotteries in the State from January 5.

The Government has also been directed by the Bombay High Court to abolish all “instant” lotteries. “Now the State Government claims that it will allow two digit lotteries and will award only two prizes in a group of 100. We demand that there should be at least ten such prizes in a group of 100. That increases our sales and more people are benefitted,” said the convenor of the committee, Suresh Bhagat. These and other assorted issues will be discussed with Salvi and a solution will be reached soon, the State Finance Minister Mahadev Shivankar told the delegation today.

The morcha was led by Shiv Sena Member of Parliament Mohan Rawle.
