Media mogul Rupert Murdoch’s visit to Delhi last week caused some stress to the security establishment. Under pressure after back-to-back blasts, the agencies said they perceived no threats to Murdoch and recommended against any security. However, Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal would have none of it. When he could not get his way with the agencies, he leaned on the Delhi Police Commissioner, who obliged the mantri. The question that is still unanswered is did Mr Murdoch actually push for this or was it suo motu action on behalf of some Congressmen as he was slated to visit 10 Janpath.
