Music starts, ends with woman

PANCHKULA, NOV 15: "I believe that music starts with a woman and ends with one," said O.P. Nayyar while interacting with the students of Sector 6 Hansraj Public School here this morning. Nayyar was here for an open question/answer session with the students.

To a question that did music-based programmes help promote new talent, Nayyar said many talented persons have been launched because of these programmes. Talking about the popularity that pop music was gaining, he said that it was only because it was being appreciated that it was becoming so popular.

Nayyar retired from the music industry after giving hits like Kabhi aar kabhi paar lage teere nazar, aankhon se jo utri hai dil mein and aap yun hi agar humse milte rahe. These days he is practising homoeopathy.On the type of music he liked the best, Nayyar said he believed that whatever appealed to the soul was good. When asked whether one should join an academy to get formal training in music, he said only hard work paid in the field. And, he said, destiny also plays a major role in the matter.
