The city’s leading designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, have been together for almost 11 years. Therefore, not only are they comfortable with each other’s peccadilloes, they have, over time, built a work space that epitomises comfort. Their studio in Juhu, close to Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow, is their home away from home. It is here that they do most of their designing and meeting with their clients. While the small space is dominated by clothes, clothes and more clothes, you cannot help but notice the elegant furniture. Especially a cream chair — which has been designed by them. Abu-Sandeep have designed furniture for many of the city’s most elegant homes and are famous for their architecturally-designed chairs, that are one of a kind. "I love designing interiors," says Abu. At the Godrej house, the duo have designed a chair that is eight-and-a-half-feet high. But most people still visit their studio for the clothes, as that still remains the duo’s focus. This year the emphasis of their collection ison hand embroidery in silk. Says Abu, "We are sticking to traditional classics."
