Gautam Kapur, the actor-model who runs his own clothing company, says that his den is his gym. Everyday, Gautam works out in his childhood friend Uraz’s garage, just off Altamount Road, which has been converted into a gym. Gomzi’, as this model is better known, says that Uraz and Pannini Raj Kumar are his “gymbo buddies” as every evening they work out together for at least an hour. “Everyone must make it a point to work out every day.”
Gomzi’s gym is just over a 100-ft large and has over a dozen free weights, a bench press and a pulley. “That’s all you need for a good work-out.”
But before he became a gym freak, Gomzi needed no accoutrements. He was into martial arts and till now attends a weekly meditation class. And no matter how busy his schedule gets, he tries to work-out everyday, even if he gets free at 2.00 am.
Besides running his own garment company Gomzi — which is mainly into exports, but you can also find the label at Vama and the Bombay Store — he has just finished shooting hisdebut film Danger. Directed by first-time director, Govind Menon, it also stars Ashutosh Rana and Tara Deshpande. Gomzi is playing the bad guy. “I am a sophisticated villain.”
The music of the film is by Whosane, and with no songs it is not a typical Bollywood formula film. “I do not want to say much about the film until it is out next January. Let people see it before I start talking about it.” But already the film fraternity is talking about his role as Gomzi has also been approached by other film producers. “I have signed one more project.” But until his first film releases he will be making sure he stays fighting fit by spending lots of time in his den.
