Manjula Screvwala’s den is, the fitness centre she owns, Flexappeal. An easy choice as she spends most of her waking hours here. The five-year-old gym, situated on Marine Drive, is done in gold and black. The walls of the hall are mirrored, to give an illusion of space. "People like to watch their form while they exercise," she says. Flexappeal was designed by Sunil Bhasali but Manjula was every where during the designing process. She picked every piece of the golden wood herself.

Says the fitness freak, "I even got each and every tile even for the bathroom walls." Manjula’s holidays abroad too are spent updating her gym. That’s why it is technically sound with a suspended wooden floor that has a six-inch cushion of air — making jumping safe. Manjula spends most of the day here supervising bodies eager to be fit and flexible. An ideal hangout for one who has flex appeal.
