HYDERABAD, NOV 21: The controversy surrounding the financial dealings of Euro lottery winner Kola Venkata Krishna Mohan took a new turn with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directing the state police on Saturday, to conduct a thorough probe.The chief minister wanted the police to specifically enquire into the genuineness of Mohan's claim that he had won the lottery worth Rs 84 crore, according to an official press release issued here.The instructions from Chandrababu Naidu have come in the wake of a series of reports in newspapers that Krishna Mohan borrowed huge amounts from banks as well as private money lenders in Vijayawada.However, neither the banks nor the private individuals who lent money to him have lodged a complaint with the police so far.Speaking to newsmen in Vijayawada during his visit to the city today, the chief minister said that he had discussed with officials, the financial dealings of Krishna Mohan. "After seeing reports in newspapers, I reviewed the matter with officialsand directed them to take suitable action if they get any specific complaint," the chief minister said.The State government would take suitable action against him if there were specific complaints. "Different versions appeared in newspapers. But there are no complaints", he added.Krishna Mohan's "sudden dissappearance" from the city about a fortnight ago fuelled rumours about the bonafides of having won the Euro lottery nearly an year ago. Apparently under pressure from those who gave him money, Krishna Mohan sought police protection.
