Hyderabad, Feb 28: With the date of US President Bill Clinton’s visit to Hyderabad finalised, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has constituted two committees consisting of ministers and officials to make all the arrangements to ensure that the visit of the US President and his team will go smoothly.

The Cabinet sub-committee consists of Finance Minister Y Ramakrishnudu, Major Industries Minister K Vidyadhara Rao, Home Minister T Devender Goud, Tourism Minister E Peddi Reddy and Roads & Buildings Minister K Vijayarama Rao, while the committee of officials will be headed by Chief Secretary V Ananda Rau.

The city coordination committee comprising the heads of public sector utilities will assist these two committees.

The chief minister who convened a high-level coordination meeting at his residence on Sunday, directed the committees’ members to prepare a programme on the investment opportunities in the State and put it on the website. The thrust areas being pharmaceuticals, tourism, bio-technology and information technology.

He wanted the members to project the city in such a way that it should be established as the best investment destination in the country. "As Hyderabad has already earned the reputation of being the technology hub and a knowledge centre, we should live up to the expectations of the visiting team," Naidu said.

The city as well as other areas should be made pollution-free and the vehicular traffic had to be regulated from now onwards in the preparation of Clinton’s visit. Since the there was very short time left, the committees had been directed to complete all the preparations speedily, according to an official press release.
