BJP president M. Venkaiah Naidu today assured Trinamool Congress and West Bengal BJP leaders that Centre would do something to check the ‘‘terror unleashed by CPI(M)’’ in the run-up to panchayat polls in the state.‘‘I can tell my Communist friends that the Centre will not remain a silent spectator if this continues for long in Bengal,’’ Naidu told state party workers here at a rally this afternoon. Naidu’s words were music to Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee’s ears. Banerjee has already been invited to take part in the state BJP’s panchayat election campaign.Naidu said that he would take up the issue of ‘‘the threat to democracy in Bengal’’ at the national level and discuss it with political parties. ‘‘I will take up the issue at the national level and as all parties to debate Bengal’s case and CPI(M) misrule because everything has a limit,’’ he said.
