Najeeb clinches thrilling final

Bangalore, Jan 17: Karnataka’s Najeeb Mirza Aga brought some cheer to local supporters when he turned the tables on Vinod Gill in the final of the men’s below-73 category of the Senior National judo championships at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium here on Sunday.

The contest was a repeat of last year’s final in the below-71 section at the Vishakapatnam Nationals except the fact that Vinod had won on superiority after both tied at the end of regular time. Today, it was Najeeb’s turn to win in similar fashion.
