CHANDIGARH, Nov 25: A cultural programme including songs, dances, plays and skits marked the conclusion of the national integration week being organised by the Labour Bureau here.

An exhibition of posters made by children of bureau employees on the theme of "communal harmony, fraternity and national integration" was also put up.

The exhibition, inaugurated by the senior-most lady in the bureau, Jeet Kumari Gharu, and presided over by Director General, Labour Bureau, S.R.S. Gill, will remain open till Saturday. The entries were judged by a Chandigarh-based artist, Vinay Vadhera.

The results of the poster making competition, in the order of merit are: 5-9 yrs: Navneet Kaur, Manpreet Singh, Pratibha. 10-15 yrs: Tanu Khanna, Nitish Kumar, Sidharth. 16-22 yrs: Amit Bhatia, Naveen Kumar, Kajal Bhatia. The first three winners of an essay writing competition on the same theme organised earlier for employees are Vinod Talashi, A. Subramanian and Asha Pant. A total of 13 employees had participated in the competition.

Appeal to youth: Aspects of youth leadership were delved upon at the pre- Republic Day National Integration Camp, being conducted by the N.S.S. Regional Centre here.

Principal of the Sector 46 Government College, Maj D.P. Singh said that the present leadership crisis will affect the overall development of political, economic and social system of the country. Dr Archana Ojha from Delhi university presided over the session urged the youth to come forward and share the responsibilities of a good citizen.

Professor Bikram Rana, while discussing problems of the youth, cautioned the NSS volunteers to remain vigilant against anti-national forces.
