
VADODARA, Dec 17: Madhurima Dutta Gupta of the Navarachna High School won the Just-a-minute contest organised jointly by The Indian Express and Pepsi as part of the Talent Search contest at the Tejas Vidyalay here on Thursday.Baroda High School, Alkapuri was declared the first runners-up, while Baroda High School, ONGC bagged the second runners-up title.
Talking to Express Newsline, Advait Gunturu of BHS, Alkapuri said, “Initially we found the contest a bit difficult, and we were also doubtful whether we would qualify for the final round. But once in the final round, I was confident of getting through.”
The second runner-up, Dhananjay Tate of VIIth standard of BHS, ONGC said all the rounds of the contest were easy and by the time the final round was being conducted, the participants were familiar with them.
Students from 15 schools participated in the contest. While all participants were divided into three groups, each group comprised five students. One student from each group was selected for the final round.
“The contest was interesting as it had a good mix of easy and difficult questions,” Madhurima said, adding the final round was very easy and students could easily guess what was coming next.
